Overview

 

Real Life ALC is primarily supported through the tuition paid by its families. In determining our tuition process, we’ve focused on a few important ideas — trust, access, and responsibility.

The culture of an ALC is rooted in trust. We are committed to developing relationships of trust with students, among the facilitators, and certainly with our families.

​

Real Life ALC Tampa seeks to be available to people based on right fit, not income level, so we offer tuition fees on a membership basis. By trusting families to be generous and reasonable we increase our accessibility.

As we grow, we try to balance accessibility with sustainability. We are always looking at our tuition process to make sure we’re being responsible to our current families and to the future health of the school. This requires balancing the need for enough to maintain the fiscal viability of the school with the limited space for accepting new students. 

 

Membership fees are monthly commitments for tuition, paid in advance and non-refundable. If you have a special situation and our base membership is out of your reach, please contact us. There are other ways you can cover the cost of the time your child spends at our school.

Part Time Membership

4 days per week or fewer

  • $100 per student per month / $200 per family (up to three children) per month

  • Covers one day per week/4 days per month

​

  • Additional drop-in days can be added at $25 per student per day- payment due day of drop off. 

    • 2 days per week/8 days per month: $200/month, $300/family

    • 3 days per week/12 days per month: $300/month, $400/family

    • 4 days per week/16 days per month: $400/month, $500/family

​

  • Every family gets one “bring a friend” pass per month.

​

  • Additional fees to different facilities based on location (see chart below)

Full Time Membership

5 days per week

  • $400 per student per month / $500 per family (up to three children) per month

  • Every family gets two “bring a friend” passes per month.

  • Additional fees to different facilities based on location (see chart below).

Important Information

​

Absences, late arrivals or early pick-ups need to be communicated at least one hour prior to start times. Pick-ups later than 15 minutes after agreed end time of the day will be billed as after care at $3 per half hour, and rounded up to the next half hour, due at pick-up. So if you pick your child up at 4:20pm on Tuesday, you will owe $3. If you pick up your child at 4:35pm on Tuesday, you will owe $6.

 

Before-care (8am to 10am)  and after-care (4pm to 6pm) are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and payable on the days you need it. $6/hour, prorated to the next half-hour.

 

Membership fees are due by the 15th of the month. Choosing autopay will get part-timers two free days per per month. It will get full-timers a $50 discount.

 

Transportation is not included in membership contribution. Community members often carpool, and a phone tree will be provided with each member’s phone number and city of residence, so that families can connect about this.

 

Lunch is not provided, although often on one of the cultural days, a regional-food lunch is prepared and shared. 

 

Snacks are available for purchase through the “ALC Store”; parents provide a deposit ($20) and their child is given an account register to record their transactions and balance information. This is a way that students can learn to manage their money, learn a little practical math, and learn about budgeting. Agreements about what the child may consume is the responsibility of the parents.
